Fall 2025 Junior Lifesaving Club will run from September 22 until November 27.

Youth aged 8 to 15 looking for a fun way to get fit and meet new friends should try the Junior Lifesaving Club.

The Junior Lifeguard Club offers action-packed fun for kids who love the water and want more than just swimming lessons. It's perfect for quick learners and those who thrive in an energetic learning environment.

What does JLC focus on?

JLC encourages youth to develop skills based on their personal bests. Participants in the Junior Lifesaving Club work on building and improving their swimming and other aquatic skills, with emphasis on the following:

  • Swimming and lifesaving skills
  • Knowledge and community involvement
  • Fitness
  • Leadership and teamwork
  • Competition
Candidate Requirements

Candidates must meet the Lifesaving Society swim to survive standard:

  • Roll into water
  • Tread water for 1 minute
  • Swim for 50 meters

The Junior Lifesaving Club is designed for:

  • Youth, ages 8 - 15 years
  • Swimmers with varying swimming abilities
  • Friends and siblings can join together in a fun, exciting and sometimes competitive atmosphere
  • Rec Ex Rangers (8 years – 11 years)
  • Rec Ex Rays (12 years – 15 years)
